Today I feel spectacular. I slept from last night at 6:30 pm till 4:30 am this morning (which is my usual time to wake up in the am). My headache is gone. Still sore and achy but as Dax Moy has said workout #1 this morning took care of that. Its not to say I am still not sore but its definitely a lot better.
I think I am under eating again. I woke up super super hungry this morning so I am going to start taking photos of what I eat so I can look at it objectively and be better able to judge if I am undereating or not eating enough of the right stuff. I will be using my hand on the table next to the plate as a good scale to use for size and portion reference.
Breakfast was 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg, 1/2 cup of avocado salad, 1 sprouted grain wheat and gluten free toast, 1 liter of water. Like I said I was starving.
Off to work. Work was better today. No stress and everything went smoothly. It was great.
I went to the park and took care of workout no.2. It was great.
My lunch consisted of surprise - chicken (grilled), spinach and watercress salad with sliced almonds & cranberries, EVOO and vinegar with water.
So far for the day it's been 2 liters down and 2 to go - lol.
Snack was ½ of an apple with 1 oz of walnuts.
After work, went to a park near the house and banged out workout no. 3 - Yay. Only 1 more to go.
Dinner was grilled chicken breast, broccoli, and a green salad.
Walked after dinner last night (which is workout #4). Plus 1 ½ hours of rehearsal last night. Got to bed at 11:30 again but I did sleep well.
I officially met my water goal of 4 liters. Yay.
Today has been a great day. I am actually pleasantly surprised, I have noticed that with each day I am increasing in strength and actually surpassing the day before's score by at least 4-5 reps more. WOW! Only real change I have made in my workouts, including Reboot from December is peeling the onion ALL the way, and I sort of play a mind game with myself.
At the last round of any of my exercises (timed or not), just when I think I can't squeeze out another rep, I push myself even harder and tell myself in my drill sarg's voice (obviously in my head not out loud - don't want to get locked up) the following words:
“Finish strong! There is no can't! There is only Will do! I am not tired! I have more energy left inside of me just waiting to be used! I am powerful beyond all measure and don’t ever forget that!”
I also keep my mind focused on the muscle group and my exercise itself, not how much time or sets or rounds or reps I have left. Just my muscles and the exercise!
Hey, it works for me it might work for someone else. Hope this helps someone.
And a great big thanks to the beautiful and gorgeous Ms. Deb for the heads up on the balsamic vinegar through your responses to other posts. That's the vinegar that I've been using and it also explains why it wasn't helping my headaches any -lol. Didn't think about that.
3 Days Down and 27 To Go!

January 4, 2011: Day 2:
I woke up this morning at 5:30 and had 1 liter of water during my workout this morning. It was a lot harder this morning as I was dragging butt and I was so sore but it was my own fault for staying up late last night. The workout was exactly what I needed for my sore muscles. They actually felt better afterwards. Still sore and pumped of course but not so painful. Dax Moy was correct though after I did my first workout most of the soreness went away for the time being.
Breakfast was the same as yesterday, 2 egg whites + 1 whole egg scrambled with coconut oil with spinach, a few cranberries and sliced almonds in with the spinach.
I went to work. It was not as stressful as yesterday although I really wanted to go to bed.
Lunch consisted of grilled chicken, green salad, and ½ of a sweet potato with water of course.
So far 2 liters of water.
I did workout no. 2. I am surprised to say that I actually met my goals for this workout despite my lack of energy. I also took in plenty of water during.
Snack was apple with 1 oz of almonds.
I have had 3 liters of water so far.
After work I went home and immediately did workout no. 3 for which I was happy with even though it’s not my most favorite - lol.
Dinner was boiled chicken with steamed broccoli (was in a hurry - wanted to go to bed early - lol).
Day 2 so far went well with the exception that I was sore like crazy and had one major headache bordering on migraine which pretty much had me close to tears as for the past 2 weeks I have been getting hit with migraines consistently and I thought - God not another one but false alarm. I had forgotten that the detox phase of ED would do that not to mention I have recently stopped taking meds that had me all swollen up and retaining water like crazy. So my body really is detoxing in a major way - lol.
I didn't do workout #4 but don't be too hard on me Dax, I was just plain exhausted and I know it was my own fault for staying up late last night and not getting my rest.
By 6:30 pm, I made dinner, served who needed it and pretty much said kitchen is closed, you guys clean up. I went straight for my shower and went straight to bed. I zonked out all the way through to 4:30 the next morning which is my usual time to wake up and felt 10 times better. See Day 3 for more details.
I am still happy with the day’s results - I did 3 workouts and had my 4 liters of water and went to bed early.

January 3, 2011: Day 1:
I woke up at 5:00 am, had 1 liter of water while working out this morning and got ready for work. My workout was intense. I had forgotten how hard MD is. Even after stretching (or gravity yoga) afterwards, I still felt my muscles pumped. LOL - you know what that means soreness coming on.
Breakfast was 2 egg whites + 1 whole egg, scrambled in coconut oil with a side of spinach and sliced tomato salad with EVOO and balsamic vinegar and water.
Got to work. It was a super busy and stressful day. Had a lot of things waiting for me and of course everything was emergency - lol. Did blow up a little bit at boss though, I am trying to get work and reports done and out, phone calls up the ying yang and he decides to ask for personal Christmas fotos to be printed while I am in the middle of a business conversation on the phone. Hello - income generating work comes first - lol. It’s not my company though so I don’t know why I care so damn much. Lol.
Snack was 1 honeycrisp apple with 1 oz of almonds. Another liter of water down.
Workout no. 2 down. I think this is an even harder work out as you are trying to beat your own best. I was definitely feeling the burn and soreness during this one but it’s a good one.
Lunch was grilled chicken, green salad with EVOO and balsamic vinegar and 4 croutons (I had to throw the rest of them away so I wouldn't be tempted).
At this time I had 3 liters of water down and 1 more to go.
After work, I went straight home and proceeded with workout no. 3. This one sucked - lol. I really don’t like this one but as they say the one exercise that you really need is the one that you don’t like so I did it anyway and thought positive thoughts.
Man was I sore by this time now.
Dinner was sauteed beef, onions and mushrooms with steamed broccoli with EVOO and vinegar.
After dinner I went for a brisk power walk all the way to my dance school and rehearsed for about 2 ½ hours. Oh the joy of bouncing around and hopping when you are so sore.
I had a couple of screw ups. One was not being prepared and having to go to Fresh Market for a salad with croutons and putting myself in temptations way. The other was going to bed so late but it couldn’t be helped.
I drank all 4 liters of water and met my goal. Met my goal of 4 workouts and am happy about that. I can feel the fat burning off my body as we speak - lol.
1 Day Down and 29 To Go!
Breakfast was 2 egg whites + 1 whole egg, scrambled in coconut oil with a side of spinach and sliced tomato salad with EVOO and balsamic vinegar and water.

1 Day Down and 29 To Go!
January 2, 2011 - Introduction
First briefly for those new to my blog a little bit of background.
I am a single mother of three beautiful girls (27, 26, 16) and a grandmother of two (2 yr old girl and 10 yr old boy). I can’t say that I have ever had a problem with my weight. When I was younger I had a hard time gaining weight but as far as I am concerned that is not a problem unless you come from a Cuban/Spanish/Italian family. Then it’s a huge problem - lol.
As a kid I was always active, always either playing American football, soccer, gymnastics, etc. (of course after my chores - lol). As I got older I competed a little bit in kickboxing (unfortunately under an assumed name - my husband at the time disapproved and basically said I was forbidden because that is not for women - BIG mistake on his part) and some bellydancing, again hidden for basically the same reason with a twist - lol. So I have pretty much been able to maintain my weight between 120 to 126 lbs even after I had my girls so you can’t blame pregnancy on my weight gain. Between training for all of that, my dancing, hiking with my girls, and walking no problem.
Then in 1 week about 16 years ago my world fell apart. I find out my hubby was cheating on me, my mom has contracted the AIDS virus and I had to run and hide from my ex’s family who were trying to take my girls from me. Long story short, I ended up taking care of my terminally ill mom and step-father at the same time, and boyfriend’s mom came along a couple of years later. All relatively within the same time frame of each other for about 13-14 years.
I was so focused on caring for everyone else and always soo busy with caring for others, worrying about chasing another possible cure or delay at least for the onset of some horrible disease for those under my care and working 2 full time jobs to cover expenses for us and making ends meet, that I neglected the ones that really needed my attention, my poor daughters and most of all myself. My daughters thank God understood and never once complained, have forgiven me for my inattention and we are now more closer than ever.
It has now been between 4 to 8 years since all three (3) have passed away. About 3-4 years ago though I found this wonderful man by the name of Dax Moy who has been helping me with my journey back to myself with all of his wonderful programs, support and kicks in the butt. I have lost a total of 60 lbs now but until I actually did what he calls peeling the onion and really did it for myself down to the last layer I wasn’t really successful.
As a matter of fact, peeling the onion is so powerful that once I was honest with myself and got down to the nitty gritty, the last 30 lbs that I have burned off have been in a little less than 1 ½ months. Subconsciously, I have been getting in my own way and dooming myself because of all the guilt I felt at not having paid attention to my daughters, in some way feeling as if I had failed my mom because she is dead at the age of 56 (give me a break as if I had the cure or was a doctor), and blaming myself for my failed marriage and putting up with crap from this current relationship. I have made quite a few changes in my life and attitude to where a lot of people’s heads are still spinning in disbelief and my daughter’s cheering on.
A lot of things now have been falling into place on their own and I am a much happier and more positive person with myself.
I really recommend anyone needing any kind of fat loss, strength training, whole health and nutritional revamp/transformation should go check out my wonderful DAX MOY.
Now having said that, I still have at least 40 to 60 lbs more to burn. Ultimately I will be entering myself in a figure contest or bikini contest and really push my limits but first things first.
My stats are as follows:
Weight - 226 lbs
Rt. Arm - 17.25
Lt. Arm - 17
Chest - 42.5
Waist - 42.75
Hips - 53.25
Rt Thigh at 4": 22.25
Rt Thigh at 8": 27
Lt Thigh at 4": 22
Rt Thigh at 8": 28
